Holiday Fundraising Season: Ultimate Donations Shows Which Companies Take Donation Requests Online

As schools, PTAs, sports teams and nonprofits across the country plan fall and holiday fundraisers, Ultimate Donations has published a guide to companies that accept donation requests online, drawn from its national directory of companies that donate products, gift cards or money to community causes.

Raffles, silent auctions, tricky trays and holiday events all depend on donated items, and this is the busiest stretch of the year for asking. Volunteers often find that every company handles requests differently: some want an online form, some still want a printed letter delivered to a local store, and many need several weeks of notice before an event. A volunteer who does not know which route a company uses can lose an evening finding out, or miss the deadline altogether.

The new guide groups companies by what an organization would receive and sets out, for each one, what the online route asks for and how much lead time the company wants. Every detail comes from the company's own giving page, and each entry links to that company's page in the Ultimate Donations directory. Because forms and portals change, the guide tells organizers to confirm on the company's page before applying.

The directory tracks more than 4,000 companies that donate to fundraisers. Ultimate Donations has served more than 10,000 organizations and made more than 50,000 donor connections.

Finding the right companies is only part of the job. Organizations still have to write the request, and the same few questions come up every season: what to say about the event, how to describe the cause, and what to ask for. Ultimate Donations helps organizations write donation request letters with the help of AI, and it publishes a free donation request letter template for anyone who prefers to start from a sample.

"Most of the people asking companies for raffle prizes and auction items are volunteers doing it in their spare time. We wanted one place that shows which companies take requests online, what each form asks for and how far ahead to apply, so an organizer can get through their list in an evening instead of a week," said Kris Goodrich, CEO of Ultimate Donations.

Organizations planning fall or holiday events can search the directory and build a donor list for free at ultimatedonations.org.
