Marcie Muensterman has spent 20+ years in sales, generating over $20 million across her fashion, travel, and coaching businesses. Her honors include the cabi Cashmere Award for team building, Travel Agent Central’s 30 Under 30 in 2009, and an ASTA Talent Development Award nomination in 2026, plus supplier awards including Vacation Express’ President’s Club.

Since 2022, she has served 5,000+ students and runs a free Facebook Group, Maximize Your Travel Advisor Business, with over 16,000 members. As the “Tell It Like It Is” Travel Advisor Coach, she fills the industry’s training gaps, and her mantra, “clear is kind,” means she never gatekeeps her hard-earned lessons.

Muensterman, who said, “I do!” in Jamaica herself in February 2007, got her start with destination weddings and corporate incentive groups, booking nearly 240 celebrations across the Caribbean and Mexico until 2024. Those years sharpened her negotiation skills, processes, and white-glove service, shaping the trips at the core of her TA business and inspiring her signature coaching program, Lead the Manifest®, the industry’s most robust hosted groups course.

She coaches advisors to be the CEO of their business while tackling decades-old issues like low pay splits, non-compete clauses, and poor offboarding policies that can cost agents their autonomy, income, and clients.

“Many people get into travel thinking it will be fun to book vacations, without realizing how long it takes to build something sustainable,” Muensterman says. “It often takes up to 2 years to see regular income. People don’t read the fine print of their contract, accepting below-average commission splits, then realize too late what they’ll forfeit if they leave a toxic situation.”

She’s best known for arguing that the typical 70/30 commission split for TAs is outdated and for championing TA ICs charging concierge care fees, since supplier percentages have stalled and the cost of living continues to rise. Advisors invest a significant investment into their expertise and education. She states, “No one’s time is free, and advisors deserve to be hired, regardless of how long they have been in the business.”

She pushes back on hustle culture that tells advisors to say yes to selling every destination and be available 24/7 “just in case.” After 65+ hour weeks led to burnout in the early days of her career, she now works under 20 hours a week with an Italy specialty, strict office hours, and firm boundaries, while still offering luxury services to her clients and earning a six-figure travel income. She urges advisors, especially part-timers, to niche to save time and make more money.

She brings these disruptive conversations to her No BS Travel Advisor® Podcast and her new membership, launching December 2026.

Muensterman is also a wife and mom of two teenagers, and weekends usually mean being at the softball field watching her daughter play shortstop or binge-watching true crime. She says, “This is about leaving a legacy, sharing where I messed up, teaching others how to thrive, and making a difference. Travel advisors shouldn’t have to struggle around the clock just because that’s how it’s always been done. There is a better way.”
