The Courageous Pacers program is organized by the CADES physical therapy team and built around students of all abilities. The event raises money for the programs and equipment that make that kind of participation possible, much of which falls outside what public funding and most family budgets can cover.
CADES holds the walk each year, and it draws local volunteers, students, and businesses that turn out to help raise the money the therapy team depends on. Money raised through the walks goes toward adaptive playgrounds designed for safe use by children with physical and intellectual disabilities and toward specialized equipment for people who use wheelchairs.
